Soft-enamel pins - Photo-engraved
Photo-engraving is a favourite when it comes to
representing fine motifs (e.g. line drawings) with
the colours clearly separated out. Moreover, this
technique enables you to choose endless variations
from among hundreds of different shades of colour
(on the Pantone® palette), because the colour of
the enamel applied can be mixed.
First of all, the picture and its outline are
engraved on a brass plate using photographic
and chemical techniques. The application of the
colour involves real craftsmanship and a
meticulous and delicate touch. The individual
colours are separated from one another using
metal stems. The resulting pin has a metal
edging typical of this kind of production
process, because engraving requires rather
broader outer contours.
If desired, the pin can be plated in gold,
silver or nickel after baking.
